On July 18, Sinochem International Oil (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. completed the first-ever B24 biofuel refueling operation for oil tanker Harbour Splendor. In addition to implementing the B24 biofuel refueling process overseas, the operation also contributes to the green and low-carbon transformation of oil tankers.
The B24 marine biofuel is a blend of 24% biodiesel and 76% low-sulfur fuel oil. Compared to traditional marine fuel, it can reduce carbon emissions by approximately 20%. As a renewable alternative to petroleum-based fuel, the use of low-carbon and environmentally friendly biofuel is of great significance for China to achieve its dual carbon goals, control air pollution, diversify its energy structure, and ensure energy security.
